Newcomers are amazed at the capabilities of these machines. The combination of powerful
engines with high torque figures and low ratio gears mean that you never run out of power
no matter how steep the gradient. Lack of traction is the limiting factor.
When descending steep hills the exceptionally strong engine braking effect produced by
low gear ratio's makes the brake pedal redundant in fact it is most inadvisable to use it
in some circumstances.
The vehicles can cope with up to 38' of lean to one side, any sane driver will have
stopped long before then (and our instructor will be seen running away!!)
We have Land Rover Defender
90's, Range Rovers (see specification)
and Mitsubishi Shoguns.
