Mission Statement
Our aim is to provide an entertaining and instructive full day, half day or evening
event. On arrival coffee will be served and each participant will be required to fill out
an indemnity form. A briefing follows on the arranged programme and should numbers warrant
it guests are divided into groups and assigned an activity. After a suitable period groups
are rotated so that equal time is taken for each activity. A competitive element can be
introduced and suitable trophies or certificates supplied. Warm casual clothing and stout
footwear is recommended for all activities

Background
Folly 4x4 Ltd. was formed in 1995 by the current directors Ringo Hine and Ken
Messenger. Both have sporting backgrounds with Ringo having competed on the circuits in
Formula 3, Formula Renault and formula Ford whilst Ken rode Motocross for many years and
was a pioneer in the U.K. of Hang gliding in 1972.
Whilst driving in 4X4 trials the two met again having first met some years previously.
It was decided to form a Company primarily to teach 4x4 driving and as Ken had been using
a site called the "folly" the name folly 4x4 was a natural choice. It wasn't
long however before reacting to customer demands the choice of activities widened
considerably all with the recurring theme of "adventure" hence Adventure Folly
4X4. A centrally situated site with easy access was considered essential hence our use of
Ringo's Moordown Farm near Hungerford Berkshire.(see map)
In it's current form the Company offers a wide variety of activities mainly to Corporate
groups but retaining the ability to satisfy smaller private parties. A second site is now
available for those clients who wish to entertain their most valued guests in style on a
beautiful country estate complete with Queen Anne style house lake and parkland.
